“When we decided to tear half of our house off and rebuild it, we knew we had to hire the most experienced and highly skilled builders we could. The job not only involved a partial demolition of the existing kitchen wing and the upstairs bed and bath, but rebuilding with a new foundation, on a very ledgy, difficult site.

Our house is a turn-of-the-century cottage on a small lake, and we wanted the new construction to blend, as much as possible, with the architecture and building style of the existing house. The quality of the finishes, trim, and overall feel of the house were tremendously important to us.

The Mottau team immediately understood our concerns and, from the start, went the extra mile to give us exactly what we wanted. As the project progressed, they were not only willing to listen to our suggestions and ideas, but often came up with great, creative solutions to many unexpected problems.

The result could not be more perfect! Our kitchen is the kitchen of our dreams, as are the two new baths, the pantry, laundry, guest room and two story garage! There is not a detail that was overlooked or skimped on.

The new addition blends so seamlessly with the old house that many new visitors to the house cannot find where the old house ends and the new house begins. It is truly a work of art! The Mottaus made our dream possible, and we could not be more grateful for the care that went into every aspect of the project.”

Dear Ed,

I still say wow! Every time I walk into the family room, the craftsmanship and attention to detail is what sets you and Ed Jr. apart from the others. You both are much more than craftsmen; what comes from your heart makes the difference.

Honest, fair and respect for me and my property, above and beyond. I will always value our friendship. Everything you have done is so much appreciated. You are so kind. Love showing off my home. Thank you!

Warmest regards, Bonnie Draper
